The preschool educators are a professional team with a wide range of qualifications and experience. These qualifications are outlined in the preschool foyer on the educator photo board.
If at any time you wish to discuss your child, their progress, or the preschool curriculum with an educator, please feel free to do so, either informally, or by making an appointment so that the educator can arrange to be away from the children to give you their full attention. An appointment is also useful in ensuring that your child does not overhear any discussions that are of a sensitive nature.
The children each have their own group and dedicated educator who they will build a relationship with and care for your child. Through this relationship each child will develop their sense of belonging to the group. The educator’s focus children will form small groups who at particular times will come together to strengthen their relationships and social skills, engaging in age appropriate experiences such as stories, literacy and maths games, music, and movement. These smaller group structures benefit the children with more personalised experiences and individual time with educators.
All educators work together as a team to document children’s learning through learning stories & developmental observations which are carried out regularly throughout the year.
Our service has a higher child to staff ratio that allows us to provide your child/ren with quality care and individual teaching experiences. We also have highly qualified and experienced casual educators who are very familiar to the service who work when required.
At all times we have a range of qualified and experienced educators.
Families are notified of who their child’s room educators are and who their child’s group time teacher is during first term/upon enrolment.
Miss Tonya - Tonya is the owner operator of Marks Point Preschool. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Tonya has worked in the industry for over 27 years and has a wealth of knowledge of service operations and the early childhood field.Tonya believes in a holistic approach to Early Education, supporting children’s Emotional, Social and Academic development through the delivery of an intentional and play based learning curriculum. It is our belief that a comprehensive and holistic preschool program is an essential part of a child’s learning experience and essential when transitioning to school.
Sarah is our Centre Support Manager. She has over 25 years experience in the Early Years Learning sector from within Australia and abroad. She has a wealth of knowledge that she shares with every child, family and educator at the service. Sarah believes that caring respectful bonds with children and theirs families are the foundation for a successful early learning experience.
Bree is our preschool Director and Nominated Supervisor. She is Early Childhood Teacher trained with over 18 years’ experience in the Early Childhood profession, both locally and internationally. Bree has a extensive knowledge of Early Childhood learning and development and is always looking for new ways to innovate and excite children and educators around her. Bree believes that it is extremely important to focus on the whole child, and takes a project-based approach to our school readiness programs. Bree holds the concept of social equity close to her heart and has a passion for developing the children’s sense of belonging by getting them out and about into the community and encouraging children's involvement in all areas of the world around them. Being a parent of two school aged children herself and after living internationally for many years, Bree is always happy to share her stories of the trials and triumphs that come with parenting.
Miss Ashleigh – Miss Ashleigh is our Educational Leader. Miss Ashleigh has over 9 years experiences as an Early Childhood Educator in Cave’s Beach and has spent the last 4 years as a Centre Director. She has a wealth of knowledge that she will share with every child, family and educator at the service. Miss Ashleigh recognises and values the strengths that come from each unique child's identity and believes partnerships with families is integral to the preschool community and culture. She can not wait to share the learning journey ahead with you all.
Emma Robertson is one of our Qualified Educators. She began her traineeship right here at Marks Point Preschool. Emma has worked with all ages of children 0-5 years and has 8 years experience in the Early Learning sector. She has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Emma pride's herself on providing quality care and education to all children . She value's meaningful and trusting relationships with families and the community. She has an extensive understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and experience in implementing educational programs to assist children in reaching goals.
Miss Amy has completed her Diploma in Children’s Services, gaining experience in both long day care and pre-school settings. She has worked as an early childhood educator for the past eleven years, ten of which have been at Marks Point Preschool. Miss Amy enjoys creating beautiful environments for children and feels strongly about building trusting relationships with them and their families. Outside of preschool, Miss Amy enjoys going to the gym, working in her garden, has an interest in interior design and floristry. Miss Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, baby boy and their much loved dog ‘Mavis’.
